PTA is "the best way" to be a parent organization involved in working for the benefit of children.  It is "the best way" to address the concerns of our children in our communities, and it is "the best way" to challenge the educational and societal environment of all children.

There are many reasons why parent organizations choose to become and remain PTA.  Most PTA's take advantage of the program and publication resources that are available.  There are experienced and knowledgeable leaders to offer training courses for procedure and policies and to assist in presenting programs.

Ninety-nine percent of the effort put forth for the benefit of children through PTA is done on a volunteer basis.  Over the 105 year history of the organization, whether the focus has been on kindergarten in schools, child labor laws, hot lunch and breakfast programs, polio vaccinations, juvenile justice reform, awarding student scholarships, school bus safety arms, Internet education or foster care reform, most of the work has been done by volunteers.
