Treasurer
The treasurer on a PTA board is a position of responsibility and accountability. It is for this reason that the Illinois PTA urges treasurers to take the necessary PTA courses in order to make your job easier. The Illinois PTA will come out to your PTA to present the following courses/workshops:

Money Matters: This course will take you through the basics of PTA finances including: how to prepare a budget, conducting an audit, fundraising, using vouchers, the treasurer's report, accountability to members and the government plus pitfalls and ethical dilemmas that a PTA may experience.

ABCs of PTA Finance: This workshop is an in-depth look at Accountability, Budgeting, and Choosing Fundraisers responsibly by defining how PTA officers work together to fulfill their responsibilities, create a budget that promotes the goals you have established, and choosing fundraising activities to accomplish your goals.

PTA and the Law: Rules and regulations — what are they and what do they have to do with our PTA? The workshop will present state and federal requirements, including ADA, banking, funding, IRS, and more information important to all 501(c)(3) organizations.
