District Directors are needed in the following areas (download map):

The district director is the link between the Illinois PTA State Board of Managers and the local units. They are the go-to person if the local unit has any questions or issues. The director's duties include promoting the PTA within the district, holding an annual district meeting, serving as an adviser to local units and councils, reviewing and approving bylaws, holding packet orientations for local units, approving plans of work and all materials distributed by councils, and holding district board meetings at least four times a year. In addition, district directors are expected to attend meetings of the State Board of Managers and to serve on Illinois PTA committees and convention committees as assigned by the president.

Illinois PTA State Board of Managers
The Illinois PTA State Board of Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the state organization. They are guided by the Illinois PTA bylaws and a set of policies and procedures, which serve as direction and guidance. These policies and procedures ensure better informed and more responsible leadership.

Members of the board are elected by the board except for district directors who are elected by PTA members in the district. Recommendations for the board are brought forward by the Board Development and Nominating Committee. This committee is elected by the delegates at the convention — general membership members [GM] and the state board of manager members [SBM]. These committee members seek qualified individuals for the positions. PTA members may recommend persons for the vacant positions.
