You'll be surprised at the knowledge you gain at this course and sharing experiences with other PTA units.

President's Course:
The president is the easiest job in the PTA and after you take this course, you'll believe it! Duties of the president will be discussed plus leadership tips and syles to help you succeed in this office.

Council Course:
Find out how a council works and how it benefits the local units that become part of a council.

Introduction to PTA Money Matters:
This course, originally called “Money Matters,” is an introduction to financial information for any PTA member, board member, or officer. It covers the very basics of budgeting, auditing, treasurer’s reporting, governmental reporting, record keeping and pitfalls or ethical dilemmas to be aware of. (This course is not complete information about the full responsibilities of a PTA treasurer.)

Money Matters 101:
This course will take you through everything you will be responsible for as a PTA treasurer including how to prepare a budget, conducting an audit, fundraising, managing money and bank accounts, electronic banking, treasurer’s financial reports, accountability to members and the government, and how to protect your 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. It is suggested that all PTA treasurers and presidents take this course, but it would be beneficial to any PTA officer.

Money Matters 201: (Prerequisite — Money Matters 101)
This course will take you more in depth into some of the legal issues you may encounter as a 501 (c) (3) association, including an IRS audit, PTA as a contractor or employer, regulations surrounding games of chance (gaming fundraisers), corporate sponsorships, vendors, U.S. Postal regulations, copyrights, lobbying, school tax referenda, and more. It is suggested that all PTA treasurers take this course, but it contains many legal issues, which other PTA officers should be aware of.
